Our client is a multi-million-pound business operating out of three offices in the UK. They are recruiting a Storesperson to report into the Warehouse Manager and be responsible to manage the movement of stock from our stores to production, ensuring that our Technicians always have the necessary stock readily available for a smooth production flow. Accurately record stock inventory tracking its movement in and out of stores, ensuring accurate allocation within the designated storage areas and racks.

This is a full-time permanent position working from 8am - 4.30pm and our client would also consider temporary to permanent depending on the candidates availability. This role offers a permanent salary of £28,000 - £35,000 depending on experience, plus 25 Days Holiday [includes Christmas shutdown period], Employee Assistance Programme - [Legal, Advisory, Financial, Health & Counselling], Company Pension Scheme, Life Assurance Package and Subsidised Gym Membership

Responsibilities:

Stock Receiving & Storing:

  • Check all deliveries against packing lists and purchase orders, promptly report any discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Record and update inventory data using our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system (soon to be implemented).
  • Organise incoming stock by accurately labelling and storing it in designated locations, while ensuring that the stock is placed in date order.
  • When faulty stock is identified, coordinate the return process back to our suppliers, accompanied with reports form our Technical Department. Upon receipt of repaired goods, ensure they are retested in house and labelled as repaired returns.
  • Regularly investigate reasons for stock shortages and make necessary adjustments to maintain accurate stock figures.
  • Promptly adjust stock figures in cases of stock outs, whether due to kitting or as advised by Workshop Supervisor.
  • Assume full responsibility for managing stock updates, ensuring timely communication with the buyer to facilitate stock replenishment in the Warehouse.
  • Uphold stock integrity by eliminating unauthorised access to the stores.
  • Adhere to correct handling procedures, especially when dealing with specialised parts. Using pump trucks, electric and manual pallet stackers to pick and deliver products.
  • Provide accounts with monthly stock takes based on estimated from record cards, backed up by semi-annual comprehensive stock takes, one in March and another in September.

Picking & Kitting:

  • Retrieve items from designated storage areas based on picking lists/Bom’s for the build.
  • Ensure accurate assembly of stock ready for production, while maintaining control over paperwork and stock procedures. Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure Technicians have the necessary component parts for uninterrupted production.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure daily checks are completed for pump trucks and pallet stackers and storage racks.
  • Follow the Company’s ISO 9001 and Health & Safety management systems, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Salesforce Database:

  • Maintain accurate and up to date records in line with company procedures.
