Our client operates from prestigious City of London offices, surrounded by their clients who provide them with quality work. They are a leading legal services provider to the Reinsurance and Insurance sectors. Go-to experts in their field, the team advises general insurers and reinsurers, along with their insured on the legal, commercial and regulatory issues faced by their Construction industry clients. The team has innate knowledge in their profession, defending claims brought about as a result from fire, flood and subsidence often causing major losses within public liability property damage claims. This specialism allows international clients to count on the expertise of the team and the Partner to advise on Coverage and policy disputes in relation to professional indemnity and construction, all risks (CAR) and erection all risks (EAR) policies. The team and subsequently you will be working on multi-million-pound claims, you can expect a complex and high-value caseload. The department is focused on succession planning, expecting their Solicitors to embrace the career opportunities that are presented to them. Internally all Associate-level Solicitors enjoy promotion to Partner. The hiring ethos is to retain, develop and progress talent, they do not externally hire Partners.

The Construction Solicitor role is very client focused. As an Associate level Solicitor, you can expect to build longstanding relationships with general insurers and reinsurance clients. Working on a vast range of insurance construction disputes and litigation you will utilise your knowledge and career achievements to-date. Providing a best in service will be the departmental focus, you can expect to work on claims emanating from insurance and reinsurance cases; design and building contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project managers. As a case develops the Construction Insurance Litigation Solicitor will be formulating strategies and offering alternative dispute resolution including adjudication and mediation and advice through the lifecycle of the claim. The very nature of the clients will mean that your caseload will be of high value and of suitable complexity for a Solicitor of your experience.

To be considered a suitable applicant the hiring partner is looking for a Solicitor with up to 5 years PQE. Professional Indemnity Solicitors with an interest in Construction would find this role of immense interest, as would Solicitors with an in-depth background in construction dispute resolution. The Partner is also happy to consider Solicitors with an employment background in general construction litigation. In-house lawyers who are currently working for one of the larger insurance or construction firms should also consider this role a suitable career move.
