Our client is one the UKs largest technical service companies. You would be joining their energy division but they also have complimentary building services and facilities management divisions.

The Role:

Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and support across all stages of solar projects, ensuring the efficient utilization of renewable energy sources.

Although this role will center around the Design of large commercial / Utility scale Solar Projects, you will also play a crucial role in using your expert Solar PV knowledge to guide team members as well as stakeholders and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Analysis: Develop and refine solar energy system designs based on site assessments, considering factors like energy requirements, available space, and environmental conditions.
  • Technical Guidance: Offer expertise and guidance on solar technologies, products, and best practices to project teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyse the performance of solar installations, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements for enhanced efficiency and output.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and codes to ensure all installations and practices comply with relevant guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, installation, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of solar systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for internal staff or external partners to enhance their understanding of solar technologies and practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in solar energy system design, installation, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in solar energy software tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope) and CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, photovoltaic technologies, and solar industry trends.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
