Software Test Engineer - Oxford - £44,000
Our client is looking for a driven Software Test Engineer for a 12 month maternity cover contract, working on-site at their brand new offices in OX4, Oxford.
The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing both manual and automated test cases. You'll collaborate closely with developers, scientists, and other stakeholders to analyse test results and address any issues that arise. Working alongside a diverse team, you'll contribute to the creation and execution of tailored test plans. This role requires strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
Software Test Engineer Key Tasks:
- Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated tests throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Assess software against predefined specifications.
- Identify and report usability issues and bugs.
- Communicate identified issues to the software development team.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving problems.
- Generate Test Reports to document testing stages and identified defects.
The successful Software Test Engineer will possess:
- A couple of years experience in a similar role
- Certification in ISTQB Foundation Level
- Proficiency in Software Quality Assurance
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
- Experience in test automation, ideally with exposure to pytest or Squish
- Familiarity with TestRail or a similar test management system.
- Strong communication abilities.
