Job Title: Software Engineering Team Lead

Salary: Circa £55,000 to £70,000 depending on experience 

Location: Bristol (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Typically, 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity!

As a Software Engineering Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to lead a team that consistently demonstrates exceptional skills and expertise in developing a Product Line software solution for current and next-generation missile systems.

You will work on multiple applications across land and maritime projects, contributing to the most advanced missile systems in the world.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Proven experience leading teams (approx. 5-10 people) delivering quality software, implementing both agile and waterfall methodologies.

  • Some experience developing with C, C++ or Ada, with a solid background in software engineering including use of scripting languages.

  • A passion for software engineering, with the ability to innovate and think critically to solve complex software problems with a willingness to develop software skillsets.

  • Comfortable working with a team in a collaborative environment, communicating and contributing to design and implementation decisions, and supporting integration across multiple projects and sites.

  • Someone willing to present new ideas and influence customers, including Project Leaders and Department Leads.

  • Experience working with hardware, operating system configuration, and security solutions.

  • Writing and reviewing skills for documentation in a technical environment
