Software Developer

Work life balance. A phrase often used by companies who pretend they care about their employee's but never actually say what it means, nor what the 'life' part entails.

Well how about working as a Software Developer for a company that actively encourages it?

* Flexible working hours.

* Onsite gym and café.

* Free fruit.

* Chill out rooms.

* Yoga classes.

Sounds good, doesn't it? I'd love to work here but my Software Development skills are not up to sharp, sorry scratch. Nor am I Agile. I know about sprints, but to me it's running down a 100m track at full speed. I think the last time I had to write a command into a computer was entering 'run program' as I went to play Secret of Monkey Island on my Commadore 64. Good old Guybrush Threepwood.

To you, sprints are something completely different, you can program in C, C++, or C#, you understand TDD or BDD, Agile methods, and parried programming. You're the person I call when I have a glitch in the Matrix. And that's why you do what you do, and I do what I do.

To continue doing what you do, to improve on what you can do, and genuinely get a work life balance (along with my jealousy) give me a call on (ZERO, ONE, EIGHT, SEVEN, TWO, TWO, SEVEN, FOUR, EIGHT DOUBLE FOUR) or (ZERO, SEVEN, FOUR, NINE, SIX, FIVE, SIX, NINE, DOUBLE EIGHT, ZERO), email me at Craig DOT Amarilli AT Acornpeople DOT com, or InMail me on LinkedIn.
