Role Overview:

As Social Value Solutions Lead you will have experience of working on public sector investment projects (preferably within the built environment). You will be responsible for developing social value solutions within competitive procurement projects that meet the requirements of public sector procurers. Solutions will be aligned to client and local stakeholder ambitions and have the potential to maximise the positive impact the project can have in delivery on society and the communities it serves. You will carry out local research and stakeholder engagement to design social value delivery frameworks and initiatives that ensure measurable social, environmental, and economic outcomes in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

As Social Value Solutions Lead, you will collaborate with internal and external project teams and project stakeholders to ensure that social value solutions align with stated social responsibility goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Social value research: Develop project context research reports that identify key social, economic and environmental objectives aligned to procurer’s ambitions. Develop socioeconomic community profiles based on key criteria. Profile competitor’s approaches to social

value and detail their experience aligned to project objectives. Identify innovation and best practice from other sectors and/or competitors

  • Stakeholder engagement: Map project stakeholders, prepare and deliver stakeholder communication processes that support effective engagement and enable stakeholder buy in.

Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, where relevant, to enhance collaboration on social impact initiatives

  • Solution development: Work with project team members to design costed social value delivery plans and frameworks that drive out high impact outcomes across relevant social value criteria (e.g. Employment and Skills, Economic Impact, Equal Opportunities, and Wellbeing). Develop community engagement and investment programmes that mitigate against project impacts, deliver tangible benefits to local communities and offer positive social value impacts in the short, medium and long-term.
  • Measurement and reporting: Design and develop social value measurement and reporting processes that provide open and transparent reporting on outcomes and impacts.
  • Team engagement: Collaborate with our clients, project teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure social value is integrated within, between and across teams. Give support and guidance to other team members as required, including hands on participation where necessary to ensure a best-for-project approach
  • Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with teams and individuals, providing regular updates and addressing issues promptly.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in social impact, corporate social responsibility, or a related field (preferably within the built environment)
  • Knowledge of social value principles, frameworks, and measurement methodologies linked to public procurement, including relevant UK social value legislation
  • Understanding of social and environmental issues and their intersection with business activities
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and execute work effectively
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to drive positive change
  • Client focused, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure (going the extra mile when needed)
