Contract - Initially 12 months

Travelling around the South and South East (Van and Fuel Card supplied)

  • Gas - CCN1 & MET1, Building Regulation, Combustion analysis, meters and pipework.

I am currently recruiting for a global energy company and world leader in wind energy. They provide energy management and supply of gas and electricity in the UK. Their Retail Business supplies Gas and Electricity to over 5 million households and businesses across the UK.They work hard to deliver competitive gas and electricity rates and tariffs, as well as products and services that put you in control of your energy - from boiler cover to their remote eating control solutions.

Main Responsibilities

Auditing the installation of Smart Meters fitted by third party companies.

  • Responsibility for monitoring a region of field based meter operatives delivering the Smart Metering Out of Area deployment (up to c.100 outsourced contractors) across South West England, South Coast of England, South East England and London areas.
  • Ensuring the delivery of a professional health and safety service which must minimise potential Health & Safety issues that could affect both customers and employees.
  • Health & Safety auditing within responsible geographic region.
  • Managing the delivery of a professional health and safety installation process which must minimise potential Health & Safety issues that could affect both customers and employees.
  • Ensuring first class levels of customer service whist ensuring Smart Installation Code of Practice (SMICOP) adherence and managing complaints within the agreed targets.
  • Constantly seeking new and innovative methodologies that support the mass deployment can be achieved in the most cost efficient manner.
  • Ensure that all budgetary and performance targets, as agreed with the Deployment Improvement Manager, are met on an ongoing basis.
  • Contribute to major projects and initiatives which support the Smart Programme deployment.
  • Deliver robust implementation solutions and develop processes and policies to meet the needs both from a field and office staff perspective on an individual sub-contractor basis.
  • Support the clients Field Services strategy to support the deployment of Smart Meters to its UK customer base while identifying potential synergies.
  • Ensure that a culture of continuous improvement is encouraged and developed across all outsourced providers and that best practices are transferred where applicable.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • EUSR Card
  • Electricity Authorisation of Electricity - Utility SHEA, Smart Metering (Electricity): Single Phase & Smart Metering (Electricity): Single Phase off Multi Phase.
  • Gas - CCN1 & MET1, Building Regulation, Combustion analysis, meters and pipework.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical and gas metering installation processes advantageous
  • Able to implement critical operational performance requirements that add value to delivery of quality services to customers
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety obligations
  • Experience of leading and managing outsourced partners/meter installers
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of cost and income drivers of high value contracts
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to obtain buy in from all levels of the organisation and external providers to deliver effective operational processes
  • Capture and analyse asset installation performance to drive efficiency in the field
  • Strong planning and co-ordination skills over a long term time horizon
  • Ability to prioritise work and deliver results whilst managing multiple stakeholders and competing demands within a rapidly changing environment
  • Sound understanding of the commercial environment and ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organisation. .
  • Full UK drivers licence
