The Role

To support the running of the new factory by resolving breakdowns, delivering maintenance and driving improvements across the site and site services in terms of new machinery, hygiene, quality, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all maintenance across site services and site facilities.
  • Attend to breakdowns onsite ensuring and reduce downtime of site plant and machinery
  • Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production
  • Carry out PPM onsite
  • Carry out daily checks on all site services
  • Core facility and utilities services such as steam boilers and associated pipework, air compressors, water treatment system, CIP room checks, effluent plant, ammonia plant room and other refrigeration systems, water softeners, water pumps to ensure compliance and optimum availability
  • Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI’s through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance and improve OEE
  • Maintaining tools and equipment
  • Make sure all chemical and bacterial checks/tests of cooling tower water are taking place as per internal schedule

You:

  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience.
  • Multi-skilled with formal engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or higher, in an electrical and or mechanical subject and / or Nationally recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
  • Possess 17th or 18th Edition Certification.
  • Proven experience of working within the food industry
  • Possess Steam utilization and boiler house training certification
  • Health and Safety/Basic Food Hygiene trained
  • Experience in managing contractors on-site
  • Have a proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Computer literate and a working knowledge of MS Office and a PPM system
  • Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings/manuals
