We are seeking a SIEM Engineer for our Government client based in Hereford. This role will be fully office based with no remote working.

The SIEM Engineer role will be an initial contract running until 31/03/2025, paying between £500 - £550/Day Inside IR35.

Role Profile:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience supporting or developing IT infrastructure monitoring within a production environment, utilising Elasticsearch technology (including pfELK, HELK, Kibana, and Logstash).
• Proficient in retrieving data from diverse sources in a distributed deployment.
• Expertise in developing and delivering dashboards tailored to fulfill business requirements for IT Ops monitoring, visibility, and alerting.
• Hands-on experience with hosting Elasticsearch in both Windows and Linux server environments. Visualisations
• Skilled in crafting custom dashboards using KQL to address specific business needs, encompassing system and network status, as well as environmental monitoring.
• Administering user authentication through role-based access control transferred from Active Directory.
• Creating custom integrations to meet unique data ingest requirements. Fleet Server
• Competent administration of a fleet server for distributing Elastic Agent environment configurations.
• Parsing and ingesting custom data into the Elasticsearch environment for effective IT Ops monitoring.
• Proficient in PRTG administration, including setting up sensors, managing license validity, and creating views for network traffic monitoring and analysis.
• Expertise in Linux-based OS, command line interface, network logging, and analysis tools.
• Accomplished Linux system administrator for Ubuntu with a working knowledge of UFW and Iptables.
• Preferably experienced with R Syslog, including interpretation and parsing of logs.Top of Form
