Our client is a well-established large recycling company working with clients from small, local businesses to global organisations worldwide
We are now recruiting for a Shipping Clerk based at their site in Congleton your role will involve shipping goods worldwide

Handling sea freight containerised movements in the main and some trailer freight shipping, handling both exports and imports.
Your role will involve booking containers, preparing and processing shipping documents, liaising with customs agents, handling bills of lading etc.

Main Duties

* Obtaining and negotiating quotes with shipping lines and freight forwarders
* Completing all shipping documentation including Bills of Lading
* Arrange timely collection and delivery of all goods, in good time, working to tight deadlines (taking charge of the entire shipping process from start to finish)
* Liasing with customs agents for both imports and exports entries and clearances

Experience

* Experience in a hands-on Sea Freight Export/Import role
* Experience in Importing and exporting from China, India, Europe and the UK
* Excellent understanding of Shipping regulations, UK and international procedures for exporting/importing
* Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work unsupervised to meet deadlines
* Excellent verbal and written English
* High level of communication skills across all levels

* £27,000 to £34,000 dependent upon experience
