Role: Shift Maintenance Engineer

Shifts: 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights)

Salary: £51,000

Location: Manchester (Middleton Area)

Futures are delighted to be working with a really well-established and niche FMCG | Food Manufacturing business based in the Manchester area.

Due, to recent growth and large investments of circa £4m the factory is booming and therefore looking to bring on board an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to be a part of their growth and success.

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, a Shift Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring production is running smoothly and efficiently by rectifying any machinery breakdowns and working as part of a team on continuous improvement projects and PPM's. The site has a big push on continuous improvement projects which has resulted in fewer breakdowns over the years.

Responsibilities of a Shift Maintenance Engineer:

  • Working on machinery and equipment breakdowns to ensure production is up and running.
  • Routine and Preventative Maintenance as planned on a CMMS system.
  • Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Repairing equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying Electrical faults.
  • Working alongside the Project and Automation team and support with new improvement ideas.
  • Conducting frequent quality checks on machinery and equipment
  • Working safely and in accordance with the health and safety regulations on site.
  • Plan / prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Identify spares requirements.
  • Assist with moving, installation and repositioning of machines and equipment on site.

Successful Shift Maintenance Engineer will have:

  • Electrical based apprenticeship with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Proven Experience working within a FMCG | Food Manufacturing Industry (catering, foodservice, wholesalers would also be fine).
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and communicate effectively within the team and production.
  • Basic to advanced experience with PLC’s would be beneficial.
