Robertson Bell is thrilled to announce our collaboration with a socially responsible housing provider as they seek a dedicated Service Charge Supervisor to join them on a permanent basis. In this Service Charge Supervisor role, you will:

  • Oversee the service charge setting process, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies to guarantee accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Provide leadership to a team of three Service Charge Assistants, conducting regular team meetings, facilitating 1:1 sessions, and conducting performance appraisals to support their growth.
  • Implement and maintain controls across various areas within the team, including estimating costs, tracking actuals, and ensuring the accuracy of all systems and documentation.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the team, proactively identifying and addressing areas for enhancement in systems and processes.
  • Lead the implementation of an automated service charge module onto the Housing Management System.

Located in Birmingham, the successful candidate will enjoy a hybrid working arrangement, with the flexibility to work remotely for the majority of the week. Additionally, you will receive a competitive annual leave allowance, a generous pension and enrolment in an employee discount program.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a strong understanding of service charges and demonstrate practical experience in setting them.
  • Have a proven track record of effective team leadership, with experience managing small teams.
  • Exhibit proactive initiative and maintain a positive work attitude.
  • Ideally, have prior experience within the social housing sector, although candidates from private housing organisations are also encouraged to apply.
  • Be knowledgeable about relevant legislation and policies governing service charges.
