Service and Fault Finding Engineer - Southampton - £40,000

Role: Experienced Service / Fault Finding Engineer
Location: Southampton + Travel
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + benefits

An exciting company are looking to expand their engineering team and therefore are seeking an experience service engineer to join a small team

The ideal candidate:

Will be able to respond to any faults or maintenance requests as well as be deployed to install new systems.

The ideal engineer with have experience with operating systems such as Windows and Linux and also be Scientifically minded as some of the data that needs to be read and understood relies on a good ability to determine the performance based on technical/physics data.

What will your role be?

*Fault-finding - at customer sites and locally
*Installation of systems on customer sites
*Interpretation of system results
*Electrical and mechanical assembly
*Cable manufacture
*Testing and repair from System level down to PCB level.
*Marking up existing drawings for modification
*Writing job/visit reports

Key Skills required:

*Familiarity with operating systems - Windows and Linux is key.
*Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings (Electrical and Mechanical), also able to look at circuit diagrams to find components with issues
*You will need to be able to understand complex PCB'S st system level to be able to interpret ethernet and serial data.
*Need to have a mechanical understanding
*Manual Fault-finding and testing experience at PCB and systems and board level experience
*Use of hand tools
*You will also need to know about Data cables and Sensors and be able to re-solder PCB's and Components.


You will be required to travel alone or with a colleague to locations such as Europe, South Africa, Dubai and Columbia.

The company is doing exceptionally well so it is likely you will travel up to 3 times a month for 2-3 days to either repair or install products but there will always be remote support if you are alone.


Additional Notes

*25 days holiday plus bank holidays
*3.5% company contribution to pension scheme
*37.5 hours/week
