My client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Warehouse Operative to oversee the physical and administrative control of materials within the company’s stores. The role involves ensuring the efficient operation of the Warehouse, packing goods for dispatch, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will act as a point of contact for escalations and supervise staff in the Warehouse Supervisor’s absence.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Maintain an efficient Goods Inwards/Outwards procedure, ensuring correct documentation and up-to-date filing.
  • Pack and unpack goods for dispatch, including airfreight, maintaining accuracy at all times.
  • Accurately track serial numbers and update warranty and other databases as required.
  • Collaborate with the returns administrator to handle non-conforming and faulty goods effectively.
  • Operate counterbalance forklift and MEWP (Scissor Lift) for various warehouse tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment, both internally and externally.
  • Handle Hazardous Goods packing and comply with transport controls and procedures.
  • Uphold the company’s Known Consignor Status by maintaining standards and procedures.
  • Provide Facilities support within the building, including minor maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Policy and demonstrate good working practices.
  • Assist with company post duties and perform accurate cyclical stock checks.
  • Support the Warehouse Supervisor with the annual stock check and control GFE Stock for audits.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for inventory/process queries and oversee Stores consumables ordering.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations and goods handling.
  • Familiarity with Goods Inwards/Outwards procedures and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using Excel and other database software for tracking and reporting.
  • Experience operating a counterbalance forklift and MEWP (Scissor Lift).
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Goods handling and Known Consignor requirements.
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision and assist others.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
