Senior Therapeutic Radiographer

Posted 18 September by NHS Business Services Authority

** We have two posts available, fixed term contract / secondment opportunities - ending 4th July 2021 and 24th September 2021 **

We are a networked, paperless, Varian department, with a fully implemented four tier career structure. We have a managed service contract securing a fleet of six Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, two CT simulators, a new brachytherapy unit and Xstrahl superficial unit. Our dosimetry planning is radiographer-led, predominately using VMAT and IMRT. We also have an established lung SABR service.

We are a clinical placement site for student radiographers from University of Suffolk, giving you the opportunity to help us shape the next generation of therapeutic radiographers.

We are also the host provider for the East of England Operational Delivery Network putting us at the forefront of service design in the region.

Norwich is served by two large shopping centres, with all the national chains you would expect, alongside independent retailers in the historic streets and vibrant market. The city also has more than its fair share of restaurants, pubs, theatres and clubs to keep you occupied outside work.

Surrounding Norwich there are a number of picturesque small towns and villages for those who prefer a quieter life. We also have good rail links to London and Cambridge.

We are looking for forward thinking, team players, who want to play a role in keeping our service at the forefront of modern radiotherapy. We understand the importance of radiographer advancement and will help you with your personal development.

To fit in with the team applicants should be enthusiastic and highly motivated with excellent communication and leadership skills.

These are fixed term posts; as such we are looking for one CT radiographer (previous CT experience not essential) and one treatment radiographer.

You will work a four day week with a day off during the week; working early and late shifts between 07:00 – 20:00hrs. You will be expected to work some bank holidays and on-call duties at the weekends.

** If you are considering applying on a secondment basis, please discuss with your Line Manager prior to applying to ascertain whether this could be supported **

Full time: 37.5 hours per week
