Senior Solutions Architect – Application

Company:
A leading financial services corporation is recruiting a Senior Solutions Architect with solid domain architectural capabilities within application architecture as our client embarks on a digital transformation programme moving into Azure. To be selected, you must have previous hands on development experience with detailed knowledge of object-oriented design principles, coding practices, micro services architecture and RESTful API services to assist our client move into a cloud focused environment (Azure).

Our client is entering a crucial phase of their digital simplification programme and requires the Senior Solutions Architect to direct the business of new strategic and emerging technology trends.

This permanent role paying up to £90,000 + 25% bonus on a hybrid basis to be located in Wolverhampton or Chatham.

Role overview/responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for enhancing and accelerating projects while ensuring the logical and physical architecture for a project aligns with the standards and reference architectures defined by the technical domain and enterprise architects; to deliver the architectural design of technology solutions, the solution architect must utilize knowledge of defined reference architectures, technology trends, and implementation experience in order to translate a business need into a solution blueprint that represents an end-to-end technical solution.
  • Design and lead the implementation of solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.
  • Take ownership of Application Architecture to support the Groups Enterprise Architecture function (utilizing LeanIX and other tooling).
  • Demonstrate experience using software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, application modelling techniques and application security industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, Multi-tenancy, Virtualisation, Orchestration and Elastic Scalability).
  • Provide Architectural oversight for applications or integrations hosted within cloud platforms such as Azure / AWS / SaaS and PaaS platforms 
  • Analyze the business-IT Application environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation and innovation).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes.
Essential skill set:
  • Recent experience acting as Senior Solution Architect / Lead Solution Architect within Development, Data or Application focused environment.
  • Experience/Certification in TOGAF version 9.2 or above is essential.
  • Details knowledge of Cloud-based solutions in Azure is essential 
  • Detailed knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) and NoSQL Programming is essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of application architecture in Java or .NET is essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of object-oriented design principles, coding practices, micro services architecture and RESTful API services is essential.
  • Detailed knowledge for developing/documenting Architecture Roadmaps, Standards & Patterns, and Business problems, including Scope, Functional and Non-functional Requirements, Solution Design and detailed architecture Blueprints is essential.

Salary expectations:
