Our client is one the UKs largest technical service companies. You would be joining their energy division but they also have complimentary building services and facilities management divisions.

The Role:

You will be responsible for producing solar scheme designs predominantly for blue chip I&C clients. The Senior/ Principal Solar Designer will be responsible for the full solar PV design process, including instructing surveys, planning applications, grid connection applications, and refining system proposals.

Responsibilities:

• Designing Solar PV schemes, mostly for blue chip I&C clients
• Preparing single-line diagrams, equipment layouts and other electrical diagrams/ schematics
• Performing system performance evaluations and yield calculations.
• Preparing and reviewing detailed drawings and specifications for construction projects, according to engineering sketches and design proposal specifications.
• Assisting with permit submission and coordinating with utility companies for grid connection.
• Working with the sales and installation teams to develop design modifications as needed.
• Keeping up to date with the latest design software, PV technologies and UK regulations.
• Providing technical support and training to other team members.

Requirements:

• 4+ years designing commercial solar projects
• Electrical Engineering HNC or Degree
• Experience with Solar specific design software
• Design Management experience is beneficial
