Job Title - Senior Scientist

Location & flexibility - Cambridge, Flexible Working

Salary & Benefits - £45,000 - £55,000, Private Medical Insurance, Enhanced Pension, 27 days + BH

About the Job -

  • Operate in the laboratory research facilities to produce, characterise and electrochemically test new battery materials (including equipment, SOP’s, H&S).
  • Propose innovative solutions, lead, and implement studies on new active materials, formulations, concepts, processes and understanding of limiting mechanisms through in-depth physicochemical and electrochemical evaluation and advanced characterisation techniques (innovation, research & new product development).
  • Plan experiments, analyse data and summarise results, with the rest of the R&D team.
  • Work with the CTO and R&D Programme Manager to innovate and optimise material design and quality to meet challenging battery performance targets.

About you -

  • Master's degree in a relevant field e.g., Chemistry, Materials Science, and 5 years postgraduate research experience (in academia or industry) or PhD in a relevant field with at least 2 years post PhD research experience or similar level of experience working in a chemical / materials research laboratory environment.
