We are searching for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join an extremely exciting and growing business located in Exeter.

To be considered for this role you MUST have a strong and successful QA and Testing track record within agile software development with the ability to drive quality at all phases of the software delivery lifecycle.

You will be working collaboratively with the Development, Product and Design teams to implement test solutions that deliver quality to our client's customers. You will be comfortable working across various technical stacks, with an eagerness to learn modern technologies as required.

You will need to be self-driven and highly motivated with the ability to deliver results whilst performing the usual duties expected of a Senior QA Engineer.

We are ideally looking for someone to join our client's team who is interested in progressing their career further and over time becoming the QA Team Leader and Department Head, to build a complete QA function and team.

Please note that this is a permanent and full-time office-based position - it is not a remote role, however, the company currently operates a 4-day working week (32 hours) with no reduction in pay, you are paid as if you are working a 5-day working week!

You will be provided with all the necessary high-specification hardware/software needed for you to complete your work in the office and therefore you need to be located within a commutable distance of Exeter to allow you to be office-based or you will be willing and able to relocate.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • End-to-end testing of sprint issues.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) alongside the Product Manager.
  • Working with Developers to review automated unit/integration tests.
  • Implement automated end-to-end testing on our clients CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement automated UI tests in production to monitor user experience issues.
  • Improve processes around test data, users and scenarios for ease of testing.

Required Experience

The role will involve all of the following, so you will need to demonstrate in-depth experience in these areas to be considered for interview: -

  • Designing, writing and executing test plans for websites.
  • Experience with API Testing (particularly GraphQL).
  • Experience with BDD.
  • Knowledge of a range of automated testing tools.
  • Effective communication skills.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience using GitLab for issue tracking.
  • Experience testing desktop applications.
  • Experience with TDD and DDD.
  • A good sense of humour!
