Senior Product Development Scientist

A highly regarded company that specialises in the design and manufacture of animal supplements is currently looking for a Senior Product Development Scientist to join their team.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for product development - identify new products and improvement to our existing products.

  • Researching products and ingredients, liaising with suppliers, obtain samples, retain and archive so that all are traceable at any time during the development of a product.

  • Conduct laboratory and production-sized trials of new formulations and ensure that the Head of R&D is kept fully aware of progress, including any problems which arise.

  • Source and prepare technical

  • Identify opportunities and conduct field research

  • Attend trade shows and identify and implement new ideas that lead product innovation.

  • Build and maintain excellent working knowledge of any new technologies and industry standards.

  • Lead clinical trials with customers and/or academic establishments - including designing trial protocols, analysis of results and project management.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 2:1 or above in a Bachelor of Science degree (Biological Sciences or Chemistry related disciplines).

  • 2 years + practical experience in product development (ideally in the nutraceutical or supplementary product arena)
