TamesideMBC are looking to recruit 2 experienced EDT (Emergency Duty Team) Social Work Practitioner to join us as we continue to make a real impact on children’s lives in Tameside.


The role of the EDT Social Worker is to promote and safeguard the welfare of children in need, looked after children and children in need of safeguarding by means of an effective assessment of need and the co-ordination and provision of appropriate services. It is essential the worker has a minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience and has the ability to work autonomously out of hours. Social Workers with less than 3 years post qualified experience will not be considered.


The Team work on a rota that provides cover at times that the daytime offices are closed on evenings, overnight, weekends and public holidays which rotates over 3 weeks including working 2 out of 3 weekends. The role currently is working from home, but office based working may be required at times / in the future.


The successful candidate will have the benefit of:
