We are excited to be working with an established accountancy firm in Darlington who have other branches in the North and are now looking for a Senior Payroll Executive to join their friendly team.

Working with 6 payroll administrators you would be the go to person for technical queries, working on multiple payrolls and report into a payroll manager. In time they are looking for you to take on the role of Payroll manager in the next 3/4 years.

As Senior Payroll Administrator you would be undertaking the full end to end process with your clients:

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls in a timely and accurate manner including more complex payrolls.
  • Undertake manual calculations of SSP, SMP, SPP and check against the payroll software.
  • Run various reports from the payroll system for managers to review .
  • Produce packs of reports.
  • Once confirmation is received from the client, finalise the payroll and issue remaining reports and online payslips.
  • Pass any banking onto managers for BACS submission.
  • Upload pension details to the relevant pension provider to meet the appropriate deadlines.
  • Ensure that all payroll activities meet legislative and statutory requirements.
  • Produce year-end reports and issue P60s.
  • Assist managers in sending quotes for the Cyclical Re-enrolment process.
  • Provide support and guidance to team members.

To be successful in this Senior Payroll Administrator role you will need:

  • Experience of end to end payroll in a payroll bureau/accountancy environment or similar
  • Up to date knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Ability to undertake some manual calculations in some circumstances
  • Knowledge of SAGE or similar systems.
  • An aspiration for progression longer term

As a Senior Payroll Administrator you will receive the following:
