Senior Network Engineer | 12 months FTC | Hybrid | City of London | Up to £90,000 

This client operates on a hybrid working model with 2 days a week being onsite in the City of London

Our client is looking for a hands-on Senior Network Engineer with good knowledge of current and upcoming technologies to join the team. Your main responsibilities will be

  • Set up and configure network hardware such as routers, switches, hubs, and related components essential for the role.
  • Inspect, maintain, and if needed, replace network cabling and associated equipment.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance regularly, covering LAN, WAN, and wireless deployments. Identify and resolve performance issues and suggest improvements to meet evolving network needs.
  • Plan and execute improvements, modifications, or replacements of network infrastructure components while adhering to industry standards.
  • Establish service level agreements for connectivity and uptime.
  • Ensure the reliable and efficient functioning of company networks.
  • Guarantee network and IP connectivity for workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the infrastructure team to ensure global system stability and availability. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Profound expertise in network systems, comprehensive familiarity with global configuration standards, relevant protocols, and leading vendor products and services in the enterprise domain.
  • Hands-on involvement with software-defined and Azure cloud-based networking.
  • Extensive experience in diagnosing intricate hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Familiarity with various global hardware products such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Veeam, Rubrik, Aruba, Meraki, HP, NetApp, and Flow amongst others.
  • Strong experience dealing with SD-WAN.
  • Proficiency in utilizing network management and analysis tools, including LogicMonitor, Datadog, Solarwinds, Network Config Manager, and similar industry-standard products.
  • Knowledgeable in intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS/AV) and other crucial network security measures.
