We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Government client based in Aldermaston, Reading. This role will be full site based with no remote working. The Senior Network Engineer role will be an initial 12 month contract, paying between £70- £76 per hour Inside IR35.

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile:

• Strong network experience (as a senior)
• Juniper OR CISCO
• Routers / firewalls
• LAN/WAN
• Security principles
• Ensure network services are maintained and up to date
• Undertake a defined range of Network engineering design, development and test activities
• Resolve any loss of service due to hardware or software issues
• Escalate significant issues to Technical Service Manager/Line Manager
• Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player
• Reviewing, daily, the status of the core network, logging incidents where appropriate
• Escalating, in advance, to the Network Manager any likely breaches of agreed deadlines
• Working with customers, project leads, third parties and other stakeholders to discuss technical service issues assisting with the resolution of said issues
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on network technologies
• Working to assist with capacity and availability management of the network
• Problem Solving: investigate and resolve problems for services within their own area of responsibility. Provisioning network services and devices where appropriate.
