MERJE is collaborating with a prestigious UK bank to find a Senior Manager of Regulatory and Compliance Oversight to join their growing team in London. In this role, you will play a vital part in upholding the bank's reputation and fostering a robust compliance culture.

Utilising your relationship-building and communication abilities, you will oversee compliance to ensure the bank complies with regulatory standards. Additionally, you will be expected to guide and drive the business's strategic direction and make a substantial contribution to the bank's commercial achievements, all while championing the company's values.

Some of your duties will involve:

  • Develop and implement an effective Compliance oversight strategy to ensure adherence to UK financial regulations and industry standards, while monitoring and evaluating regulatory changes and their impact on the bank’s operations
  • Collaborate with teams to assess compliance risks related to new products, guide corrective actions based on the Compliance Monitoring Plan, and lead the development and maintenance of updated compliance policies and procedures
  • Create and deliver comprehensive compliance training initiatives, stay updated with industry best practices, and oversee the ongoing delivery of good customer outcomes in relation to the Consumer Duty
  • Manage the Compliance team's day-to-day operations and serve as the main point of contact for compliance, regulatory, and conduct queries within the business
  • Prepare and present reports on compliance activities, trends, and issues to senior management and ensure the team, consisting of three members, operates efficiently

Required Experience:

  • Significant experience in FinTech digital banking, UK banking, or regulatory bodies with a deep technical understanding of UK banking regulations and FCA requirements, including the Consumer Duty
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate complex regulations into clear business requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders and internal teams
  • Comfort working in a dynamic industry, demonstrating flexibility to adapt to changing demands
  • Strategic approach to managing risk and prioritising tasks, coupled with the ability to influence a culture that consistently ensures fair treatment of customers
