An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to be part of our dynamic and innovative infection prevention and control team.
The post holder will be a registered nurse with a special interest in infection prevention and control, this is an ideal opportunity for an infection prevention and control link practitioner to gain experience within our team and a chance to develop. The post holder will work under the direction of the Lead Nurse Infection Prevention and Control, with mentoring and supervision from the Nurse Specialist Infection Prevention and Control, and work in collaboration with the Nurse Consultant Infection Prevention and Control.
The post holder will be an integral part of the larger Infection Prevention and Control Service, which has responsibility for the entire Trust. The Team advises on the prevention and control of infection in all NELFT in-patient services, community health services and mental health services in North East London, Essex and Kent.
The post holder will provide comprehensive clinical and administrative assistance and support to the infection prevention and control service while undergoing a formal development programme and accredited training.
The post holder will be expected to gain competence in all aspects of the role and apply this in their work with minimal supervision, and to attend further infection control training to develop knowledge and skill base as directed to aid the provision of a quality, safe and efficient service.
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex
High Cost Area Supplement – Essex
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,034 to a maximum of £1,791)
