Senior Finance Manager

• Salary: £850-900 a day

My client is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the delivery of our multi-year financial controls transformation plan. This role is pivotal in defining policies, standards, and metrics to ensure consistent delivery of controls transformation across business units. The successful candidate will be a professionally qualified Accountant, Auditor, or Risk Manager with a strong background in ICOFR/SOX/COSO frameworks.

• Develop and drive the delivery of the financial controls transformation plan.
• Define and manage the annual financial controls assurance plan to support board sign-off of the accounts.
• Manage the Financial Control Group Risk Category (GRC) within BT’s broader risk management and control framework.
• Prepare monthly CFO dashboards, biannual risk category reports, and board papers.
• Provide guidance and support to unit financial control leads.
• Identify and drive opportunities to improve the financial control framework.
• Lead multiple virtual teams to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes.

• Professionally qualified Accountant, Auditor, or Risk Manager.
• Demonstrable knowledge and expertise in ICOFR/SOX/COSO frameworks and controls best practices.
• Experience in audit and risk management.
• Proficiency in working with complex IT systems, particularly SAP systems and GRC.
• Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to influence business performance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and business challenges to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify key messages/themes and diagnose problems.
• Ability to challenge the status quo and implement pragmatic solutions.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members.

• Experience in the telecommunications sector or a similar industry.
