Summary:

We are working with an industry leader in battery storage systems who are looking to grow their Trading and Analytics team as a Senior Energy Market Analyst. You?ll be working with grid-scale battery storage assets which are vital for both grid stability and accelerating in the net-zero energy transition and you will be primarily focused on developing market analysis to help the Trading team stay one step ahead of our competitors. You will have a STEM degree, a passion for the energy / trading industry and a track record of analysing data, extracting insight and communicating this to audiences.  Apply today!

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop trading strategies for battery storage in daily auctions and wholesale electricity markets 
  • Cultivate understanding of GB power market dynamics and National Grid balancing services 
  • Producing analysis within the team to collectively enhance market understanding
  • Analyse UK energy markets, focusing on battery storage assets and market regulations in order to boost trading performance 
  • Collaborate on trading software development, contributing forecasting techniques, creating market visualisations and tools to improve trading efficiency 
  • Monitor competitors' activities and refine approach to maintain market-leading performance 

Skills & experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, Economics, Data Science or a similar field 
  • Passion for the energy industry, trading or asset optimisation 
  • Multiple years of experience in an Analyst role, with a track record of analysing data, extracting insight and communicating this to audiences 
  • Proficiency in data / statistical analysis tools such as spreadsheets, databases and/or Python 
  • Motivated to develop expertise in electricity pricing, hedging, and risk management strategies 
  • Flexibility with your working hours
