I'm looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join a battery storage and renewable energy company in Oxford. If you want to combine your love for data science with the desire to have a positive impact on the planet then this is the role for you.

I'll kick off with the essential requirements as it's a role where you'll need to hit the ground running.

  • Experience working within energy, power, renewables or trading
  • Time Series forecasting
  • Strong statistics/bayesian/probabilistic modelling background
  • Excellent Python skills
  • Desire to work in a genuinely collaborative manner and innovate with the team - this probably won't work for people who want to work solo

Beyond this, here are some desirables:

  • Experience working on real-time battery optimisation platforms
  • Background taking models into production and handling deployment

Day to day you'll be tasked with the development of the forecasting and algorithmic trading platform, primarily focussing on the UK power market. You'll be joining a well-established data science function made up of a Head, Lead and several talented junior and mid-level DS. This is supported by a global software engineering team and a fully functioning trading desk should you need support in handling production or in-depth energy trading knowledge. ??

If you come from a power market background Reach out to Jamie Forgan at SR2 and we can discuss things in more detail.
