Senior Credit Risk Analyst - £40K - Accrington (Hybrid)

My client a leading financial service provider are looking to bolster their existing Credit Risk team with the acquisition of a new Senior Credit Risk Analyst. This role is responsible for a wide range of activities including supporting the ongoing review of credit policy across all lending products and channels.

They are responsible for the reporting and the analysis of lending performance across the portfolio and will use insight from this analysis to develop proposals to adjust lending strategy to ensure a customer-first approach whilst at the same time protecting the business. They will work directly with the credit decisioning system to ensure delivery and management of automated decisions that support efficient and cost-effective customer management across the product range with minimal levels of manual intervention.

This role will be based from the Accrington office and will be on a hybrid working model (days/split to be discussed during interview)

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Head of Credit in the development of credit risk policies and strategy including credit scoring to support growth ambitions whilst maintaining control of credit quality and performance
  • Performing regular credit reporting and investigative analysis to monitor performance and identify improvements to policies and procedures.
  • Development and implementation of credit risk MI to ensure the effective and ongoing monitoring of all credit risk strategies
  • Ensuring that all credit data and credit models are thoroughly and accurately documented and tested.
  • Design of champion/challenger tests to continually improve and refine lending strategies.
  • Implementation of credit strategy into the credit decisioning system.
  • Undertaking ad hoc work as needed to support other business areas to support on project work.

Requirements:

  • 2 years working in Credit Risk Analytics
  • Strong data interpretation/interrogation skills, including data manipulation and analysis techniques, to create meaningful insight
  • Proficient user of Python, R or similar
  • Database extraction and reporting experience including SQL
  • An understanding of data systems and infrastructures
