Senior C++ Software Developer

Work Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Location: Based in Kettering, with the option for hybrid working from home or full-time remote work

Role Description:

The primary focus of this role is to develop and test computer software for warehouse management and control system.

Responsibilities:

• Develop software in accordance with the system and module design documentation for projects, adhering to SOLID principles.
• Utilize company standards to ensure clear understanding, verification, and maintainability of work by others.
• Conduct unit testing to verify software performance aligns with design specifications and company standards (including screen layouts, behavior, etc.).
• Complete software development within specified timelines or provide early notification if timelines cannot be met.
• Apply past project experience and industry knowledge to challenge designs for more suitable solutions, utilizing the agreed change control mechanism.
• Utilize issue tracking systems (currently Jira) to report software faults in core package software.
• Employ company-provided development tools and computer systems for the role.
• Provide support to client/commissioning teams during early life phases.
• Assist in software build deliveries to test and site environments.
• Adhere to Company Health and Safety procedures and responsibilities outlined in the Health & Safety Policy, as per section 3.9 - Company Employees.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in C/C++ and Java.
• Competent in Linux (Unix) based operating systems and capable of writing shell scripts.
• 0.5 - 3 years of experience in programming languages.
• Familiarity with coding standards.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
