As part of your role, you’ll play a crucial part in supporting our operations and ensuring that our teams have the resources they need to succeed. This includes planning, sourcing, and tendering, as well as managing suppliers and supporting the CPT garrison teams. These activities are aimed at delivering value for money and performance to the garrison teams.

Your main responsibilities involve understanding and assisting with procurement operations to ensure the delivery of goods, projects, and services in line with ADSL policies. You will also help implement changes to procurement policies and processes, while suggesting improvements based on business needs. Additionally, you will conduct analysis on suppliers and subcontractors to support sourcing strategies, utilize IFS reporting for improvement activities, and assist in developing supply chain plans. Your role will also involve managing supplier relationships, ensuring value for money, and supporting the delivery of programmes at the Garrisons in line with the procurement strategy and ADSL policies.

You’ll possess strong organisational skills, excelling in proactive planning, efficient time management, and evaluating progress against established plans. You’ll be able to demonstrate exceptional abilities in managing people, as well as a sharp awareness of commercial and financial aspects. You’re driven by results, consistently meeting the needs of both internal and external customers, and effectively achieving objectives, as well as being proficient in addressing technical procurement issues, showcasing a deep understanding of procurement systems and processes. You can exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, foster positive relationships with Operations and Procurement teams, while maintaining approachability and respect towards all staff members. You’ll have a proven track record of effective communication across various stakeholder levels, coupled with a team player mindset and high computer literacy in MRP, business systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Ready to join the team?

To be considered, you must have:
Be a Member of CIPS (or working towards MCIPS certification)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Buyer-level Procurement role.
Additionally, you should have a strong background in managing Procurement activities in collaboration with operational teams.
Your expertise should encompass sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and supplier relationship management, along with effective communication skills across all stakeholder levels.

Salary: Up to £38,000 dependent on skills and experience
Location: Tidworth
