Senior Bookkeeper / Payroll

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a growing business, the role will help with and help us with our fast expanding customer portfolio.

The successful candidate will have their own portfolio of clients; the role will include the following duties:

Bookkeeping for clients which includes reconciliation of trial balance items.
Processing sales invoices, receipts and payments and chasing debtors.
Processing purchase invoices.
Complete and reconcile VAT returns.
Providing weekly/monthly payroll including CIS.
Reconciling the payroll accounts.
Liaising with HMRC.
Other adhoc duties such as posting journals.

Skills:
Must have good Excel skills and experience using Xero.

Key Requirements:
The Ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
You must be highly organised and be able to work unsupervised to strict deadlines.
Have experience working in a busy practice.
Have a proactive approach to problem solving.
Used to working with incomplete records.
Be able to set up and improve accounting processes.

Qualification:
Minimum AAT qualified or higher.
2-3 years experience within an accountancy practice.
