Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer / Cloud Solutions Architect - Gatwick / Hybrid

£65,000 - £70,000 plus excellent benefits / 3 days per week in their Gatwick based office

A cutting edge data centre solutions provider seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Engineer / Cloud Solutions Architect to join their team in Gatwick, West Sussex. In this role, you will work on a variety of projects, helping their clients harness the full potential of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other cloud technologies.

Due to level clients they work with, SC Clearance is a desirable but must be willing to go through it if not obtained already - MUST BE A BRITISH CITIZEN TO QUALIFY FOR THIS SPECIFC CLEARANCE.

Responsibilities for the Senior AWS Engineer / Cloud Solutions Architect position:

• You will be responsible for designing, deploying, supporting and managing complex cloud infrastructures and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of AWS environments.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and design robust and scalable AWS solutions.
• Build and configure AWS services, leveraging infrastructure as code (IAC) and automation tools for provisioning and management (Python).
• Monitor and manage AWS resources (CloudWatch) optimising for performance, cost, and security.
• Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring data protection and compliance with industry standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, providing root cause analysis and preventative solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline operational tasks.
• In time you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders, to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of AWS environments, configurations, and processes.

The Technology - Senior AWS Engineer / Cloud Solutions Architect position:

• Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudFront, IAM, Lambda, VPC and more.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) and automation tools (e.g., AWS CLI, AWS SDKs).
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and best practices in cloud architecture.
• Experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, Business Studies, or a related field.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or other relevant AWS certifications - can be working towards.
• 4 years minimum proven experience as an AWS Engineer or similar role.
