Our client, a leading accountancy firm with multiple offices across the Northwest, is seeking a talented individual to join their Longridge team as an Accounts Senior.


The opportunity:

My client specialises in serving small and medium-sized businesses across a variety of industries, with particular expertise in farming, agriculture, and construction sectors. From sole traders to charities, they provide comprehensive accounting services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.


About the Role: As an Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in their team, delivering high-quality accounting services to their diverse range of clients. They are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience working in an accountancy practice, who is ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent. The ideal candidate will be proficient in accounts production, corporation tax, personal tax, and VAT, with experience working with a variety of software and cloud-based packages.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare year-end accounts and tax computations for a portfolio of clients.
  • Advise clients on tax planning and compliance issues.
  • Assist with VAT returns and submissions.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members to support their professional development.
  • Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accountancy practice.
  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Strong technical skills in accounts production, corporation tax, personal tax, and VAT.
  • Proficiency in various accounting software and cloud-based packages.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and team members.
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a passion for delivering excellent client service.

The offer:

  • Office hours are 8.30pm-4.30pm Mon – Thurs and 8.30am-4pm on a Friday. 
  • Hybrid working after a successful probation and training period, full time staff work a minimum of two full days in the office. 
  • Holidays are 20 days plus bank holidays and Christmas close (increasing to 25 days after 10 years’ service)
  • Death in service benefit (after 1 years service)
  • Auto enrolment pension scheme.
