Are you a dedicated and passionate SENDCo looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to announce a vacancy for a SENDCo position in an alternative provision school in Workington.

About the School:

Our client school provides education across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4, catering to a diverse group of students. The school specialises in working with pupils at risk of permanent exclusion, those benefiting from a specialised vocational (alternative) curriculum, and students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Additionally, the school supports pupils who are unable to attend mainstream provision due to various reasons, such as physical or psychological illness or pregnancy.

Position: SENDCo for Alternative Provision

Location: Workington

Hours: Monday to Friday, term time only, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

Daily Rate of Pay: £162.75 - £211.96

As the successful SENDCo, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with school staff to develop and implement individualised education plans for students.
  • Providing guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective strategies for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Liaising with external agencies and parents to create a holistic support network for students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold QTS and have relevant teaching experience.
  • Possess a SENDCo qualification or be willing to work towards one.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of SEMH needs and alternative provision.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with a passion for making a positive impact on students' lives.
