Join our dynamic team at Accelerate Teaching, a leading education agency dedicated to empowering students and schools across the UK. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students at a vibrant secondary school in Leeds.

About the Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with special educational needs and disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting students with their learning and development, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Collaborating closely with teachers and other professionals to create individualised learning plans.
  • Providing pastoral care and emotional support to students, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Implementing strategies to enhance the academic and social progress of students with SEND.
  • Utilising a variety of resources and techniques to engage and motivate students in their learning journey.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, coupled with resilience and adaptability.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people.
