Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning Manchester is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a well-established school in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN) and contribute to their academic and personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom setting.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with specific learning needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure inclusive practices and support the integration of students with SEN.
  • Help create a positive and nurturing learning environment, promoting student engagement and well-being.
  • Support students with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, as required.
  • Foster effective communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and document student achievements and challenges.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children or young adults with SEN.
  • Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the education and development of students with SEN.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent).
  • Additional qualifications or training in special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous.
