We are currently seeking experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to provide invaluable support to children with diverse learning needs in a SEND school located in Kirkby.

Role Overview:

As an Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised support to children with moderate to severe learning difficulties. You will work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored learning plans, facilitate educational activities, and create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring students remain engaged.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Supporting students with personal care and mobility needs, where necessary.
  • Collaborating with the wider school team to promote an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a SEND setting, preferably with children with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and implementing behaviour management techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
  • Availability to work full-time during school hours.
