About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team, working across multiple schools in Birmingham. This role involves supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential in an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Learning: Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the class teacher.
  • Individual Support: Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, adapting teaching materials and methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Classroom Assistance: Help manage classroom activities, prepare learning materials, and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Personal Care: Assist with the physical needs of students, including personal care and mobility support when necessary.
  • Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies to support students' emotional and social development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting.
    • Strong understanding of child development and learning processes.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
  • Desirable:
    • Relevant qualifications in education or child development.
    • Knowledge of various SEN conditions and appropriate teaching methods.
    • Experience with behaviour management techniques.
