SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Middlesbrough. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
  • Support students with their emotional and behavioural needs, promoting positive behaviour.
  • Facilitate small group activities and one-to-one support sessions.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working with SEN students in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable.
