SEN Teaching Assistant

Northfield, Birmingham |Daily Rate- £85- £100 | Start Date-ASAP | Full Time (Term Time Only)

LTF Recruitment are currently seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning of children with SEN split between Year 3 & 5. The role would be classroom based and involve supporting a small group of with SEN (ASD) in lesson also supporting the class. The role is offered on a long term basis with the potential to become permanent for the successful candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with SEN on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Supporting the teaching and learning of children across Key Stage Two.
  • Running intervention sessions for children.
  • Ensuring that every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.

Personal Specifications:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD)
  • Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 12 months' experience as a TA
  • Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a one-to-one and a small group basis and running intervention sessions.
  • Knowledge of the UK primary curriculum.
  • A calm, patient, and caring persona.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
