SEN Teaching Assistant

At Tradewind we are working with primary schools in and around Rainham to provide them with confident and enthusiastic sports coaches who are looking to explore work in the education sector as Teaching Assistants. The successful candidate will have experience working with children with SEN, such as Autism, ADHD or challenging behaviour.

We have day-to-day and long-term Teaching Assistant opportunities available in Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in primary schools in and around Rainham.

Requirements:

• Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to helping to create a fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Enthusiasm to engage children in their learning.
• Confident in their ability to manage student behaviour.
• At least two years' experience working with children as a sports coach.
• Effectively lead a small group of students.
• Have experience supporting children with SEN.

How will you be supporting?

• Providing support to an individual student or group in the classroom
• Managing behaviour throughout the course of the day, focusing on positive behaviour management strategies
• Supporting the pupil with classwork, organising by the teacher
• Mark children's work and monitor their progress
• Working closely with the pupil's parents, class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator
• Supporting the teacher with the preparation for and delivery of lessons
