Whether you have experience of teaching in Special schools or not, you will need to be patient and understanding, and have the ability to adapt and be creative in your teaching approach.

Working as an SEN teacher can be extremely rewarding and Tradewind can offer rates of pay between £140 -£160 per day for daily & short term cover. Flexible supply work can be the solution to the work- life balance you have been searching for. It does not involve any planning or assessment and you will not be expected to participate in extracurricular activities.

The types of SEN schools we work with:

  • Mainstream primary and secondary schools with SEN units
  • PMLD schools (profound and multiple learning difficulties)
  • ASD schools (Autism)
  • SEMH schools and PRUs (social, emotional and mental health)
  • MLD schools (mild/moderate needs)
  • Hospital schools
  • Speech and language difficulties
  • Visually impaired and hearing impaired

To join Tradewind as an SEN Teacher you will ideally need :

  • QTS
  • Previous experience of SEN teaching
  • Availability of 2 or more days per week
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
