SER are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants for a large and modern SEN school in Tonbridge. This is an ambitious school for children and young people aged 2-19 with profound, severe and complex needs. The school are looking for exceptional people to join their team who are able todemonstrate belief in the school culture and ethos; have a passion for working with children and young people with special needs as well as creativity and energy.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Ages: EYFS - KS5

SEN: PMLD (profound multiple learning difficulties)

Hours: 08:30 - 15:30 (Full & Part-Time)

Rate: £12:31pr hr (+ holiday pay)

Location: Tonbridge

Ideal candidates will:

  • Be a professional and caring individual

  • Have a good understanding about safeguarding and working with vulnerable children

  • Be flexible, adaptable and be able to use own initiative

  • Be comfortable with personal care (toileting)

  • Have training and experience in Moving and Handling (incl. Hoists) beneficial but not essential

  • Have experience working within SEN or working with children is beneficial but not essential (all applications welcome)

As the range of pupil’s ages and SEN requirements vary, I am looking for flexible team members who are confident to work across all aspects of SEN and all key stages.

Be able to commit to working the hours specified above.

Provide an enhanced DBS registered on the update service. If you do not hold a valid DBS, be willing to apply for a new DBS. The cost of a DBS is a one-off payment of £38 with an annual subscription of £13 per year to the DBS Update Service.

If you have been a UK resident for less than 5 years, a right to work visa must be provided and a criminal background check certificate must be provided for any country resided in for 6 months or more within the past 5 years.
