SEMH Teaching Assistant

Tradewind are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant with experience working with children with SEMH needs to work in an OFSTED 'Good' rated four-form entry primary school in Dagenham. This would be a full-time, long-term post starting ASAP with pay rates between £85 to £95 a day.

Supporting a Year 5 child with SEMH needs, this role would require someone who would be confident working with children with Special Educational Needs, able to build a strong rapport quickly as a foundation to help them to engage with their learning. The successful candidate will have previous experience working with children with SEMH needs and will have the desire to act as a positive role model for young learners.

Located in Dagenham, this is a musical school with a caring atmosphere and strong links to the community music service. Having a stimulating, friendly and supportive environment, pupils can learn and achieve their best.

The primary school has parking on-site and is easily accessible by both bus and train.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
  • Have a warm and nurturing approach when working with children.
  • Be confident working with children with challenging behaviour.
  • Confident leading small group work.
  • Available 8.30 - 3.30, Monday to Friday
  • Live within commutable distance of Dagenham.
