Engage Education are currently working with a dynamic and inclusive educational institution in Worthing committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They are dedicated to helping every student achieve their full potential and thrive both academically and emotionally.

The school is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their team. As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting and educating students who face various social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with their team to create an inclusive and safe learning environment where every student can succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans for students with SEMH needs.
  • Provide differentiated instruction and support to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and personal growth.
  • Utilise effective behaviour management techniques to address challenging behaviours and promote positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with support staff to create a holistic approach to student support.
  • Regularly assess and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.

What you will need:

  • Valid QTS.
  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and therapeutic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH challenges.
