Purpose of the Role

To patrol Broadway Plaza site ensuring the safety and security of the site and site users. At the same time having an active role in the efficient running of the car park facilities and control room operations, whilst delivering continuous improvement in all these areas.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To meet and exceed were ever possible the safety, security and service of the Security Team, our client and the property.
  2. To regularly patrol and physically check all areas of site internal and external ensuring that all areas are secured as per site instructions using patrol logging system.
  3. To physically check all buildings to ensure doors and windows are secured / locked as required.
  4. To report defects, risks, hazards to the security supervisor / cleaning & security coordinator.
  5. To check specifically identified rooms and all areas for fire or fire hazards.
  6. To undertake whenever tasked, checks and searches of individuals or vehicles entering or leaving the Broadway Plaza site.
  7. To ensure that vehicle users conform to the clients laid down traffic regulations (Inc car parks) and enforce the Parking Enforcement Notice scheme where non-conformity occurs as per company policy & procedures.
  8. To deal with unusual occurrences in accordance with guidelines and training as specified by the company.
  9. To record and maintain all daily occurrence books and records assigned to your site in a legible and timely manner.
  10. Assist with flood & snow (& ice) clean-up in extreme weather conditions
  11. To deal with all enquiries made by telephone or by other means from the customers, its representatives or visitors as required.
  12. Replenishing consumables in car park pay stations.
  13. To implement Fire Regulations / equipment / alarms and emergency procedures as required and in accordance with the Site Instructions.
  14. To always deliver the highest level of personal behaviour, in line with the company’s standards.
  15. In the event of learning of a break-in, vandalism, theft, or other incident, to report immediately to the Security Supervisor / or the appropriate emergency service. Your Coordinator / Centre Management is to be notified as detailed in the Site Assignment Instructions.
  16. To assist the Cleaning & Security Coordinator / Centre Management with tasks or problems within the car parks or traffic management as requested, support members of the team and attend regular team meetings
  17. To always comply with, Company Policies and Procedures and the Health & Safety Laws.
  18. Undertake all other duties consistent with the nature and grade of the post as necessary or required.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organization.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Must have valid DS license.
  • Must have valid CCTV license.
  • Must have 2 years or more experience as a security officer.
  • Must have 1 year or more experience at a CCTV operator.
  • Preferred candidate to have First Aid certificate but not essential.
  • Must be willing to work nights.

Working Hours - 35hrs/week 

Salary - £12.67 per hour
