Role Overview:

  • Supporting Practical Science: Prepare materials and equipment for science experiments and demonstrations, ensuring they are ready for use in practical lessons.
  • Maintaining Laboratory Equipment: Regularly maintain and calibrate scientific instruments and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures within the laboratory environment, promoting a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff.
  • Resource Management: Manage inventory and stock levels, ordering necessary supplies and materials to support the science curriculum.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff to assist in the delivery of engaging and effective practical science lessons.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is essential.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to laboratory work.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A passion for science and a commitment to supporting the educational needs of students.
